History

To address the need for a broader understanding and use of reflective techniques in engineering education, the Consortium to Promote Reflection in Engineering Education (CPREE) was established in March 2014 with funding from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.

CPREE is comprised of 12 campuses, including the host institution, the University of Washington. The campuses were selected for diversity in institution type and enrollment demographics and include a range of associate’s degree-granting colleges, teaching-focused institutions, and research/comprehensive universities.

The following activities are planned on each of the partner campuses: (1) identify and map practices that support reflective thinking by students; (2) produce field guides to support awareness and understanding of reflective practices; and (3) promote local use, development, and sharing of reflective practices through engagement of additional educators.
